Job Summary

Develop and maintain tools, processes, and training investment roadmaps for the Airworthiness & Weapon Systems Cybersecurity Center for Technical Excellence. Represent the AWWSC on sector councils and counsel on program-specific processes and procedures. Develop and maintain process artifacts, procedures, process flows, and metrics for programs and staff. Support tool development and enterprise/industry collaboration while assessing, developing, and sustaining training initiatives. Guide the evolution of the team into a robust digital-centric organization through vision and essential capabilities. This role supports the development of AW policy, process, and procedures, as well as AW training, tools, and data strategies for common products. The position requires a DoD Secret security clearance and extensive experience with airworthiness activities across the full lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience
  • Master of Science with 6 years of related experience
  • Ph.D. with 4 years of related experience
  • Experience with reviews and coordination of other Airworthiness Engineers, as well as with internal engineering disciplines at all levels of the air system to include: design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal
  • Experience with functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, interface definition, hardware and software specifications for airworthiness compliance to the appropriate regulations, standards, and/or guidelines
  • Experience with airworthiness activities throughout the development, sustainment, and disposal lifecycles
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally with subject matter experts, engineers, analysts, and senior leaders
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher
  • U.S. Citizenship

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity of MIL-HDBK-516C or D Civil/Military aircraft development or modification experience
  • Experience with domestic or international standards development organizations
  • Experience with digital airworthiness approaches & methodologies
  • Familiarity with the DoW acquisition process
  • A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
