Job Summary
Develop and improve industrial manufacturing methods by analyzing facility specifications, evaluating materials, and optimizing equipment layouts for maximum efficiency. Determine necessary parts, tools, and processes to meet product specifications while estimating production times, staffing, and costs for management decisions. Communicate production schedules and capabilities to facilitate workflows, conferring with vendors to arrange equipment purchases and parts. Evaluate products against quality standards and resolve technical problems to recommend production improvements. Requires 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with proficiency in CAD and CAE software. Up to 25% travel likely.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree and 10-12 years' experience
- Engineering degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
- May need to stand for long periods of time
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
- This position is Safety-Sensitive
- Up to 25% travel likely
