Sr Power Generation Engineer - Civil/Structural

Job Summary
Conduct engineering evaluations, structural assessments, and field investigations of civil infrastructure across Florida Power & Light's power generation fleet. Develop engineering solutions for repair, modification, and long-term asset management while preparing technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates. Lead root cause analyses for infrastructure failures and manage engineering consultants to ensure compliance with company standards. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and other disciplines to develop safe, cost-effective solutions, including support for emergency plant issues. Requires Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, 4+ years of experience, and a PE license. Full-time, exempt role with relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in commercial, industrial, utility, manufacturing, heavy civil, or related civil engineering fields
- Experience performing engineering analysis and preparing technical reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to travel to power generation facilities as required and provide engineering support during emergent plant conditions
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure
- Bachelor's - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Experience: 4+
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting power generation facilities
- Experience with circulating cooling water systems, cooling towers, or other industrial water infrastructure
- Experience managing engineering consultants and construction contractors
- Project management experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Maximo, or similar engineering and asset management software
- Lean Six Sigma certification
