Job Summary
Analyze existing Power BI reports, dashboards, SSAS models, and business logic to reverse engineer calculations, filters, and Row-Level Security. Redesign and rebuild reporting solutions by mapping legacy metrics to a new SQL Server data warehouse schema while maintaining functionality and data accuracy. Develop advanced DAX measures, semantic models, and visualizations; optimize T-SQL queries to validate data and troubleshoot discrepancies. Collaborate with data warehouse and integration teams to translate requirements into technical specifications, document logic, and manage migration efforts independently.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models
- Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Strong experience developing advanced DAX measures, calculations, KPIs, and report logic
- Experience working with SQL Server-based data warehouses and dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables)
- Experience working with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), including Tabular Models and Multidimensional Cubes
- Strong T-SQL skills with the ability to query, analyze, and validate data in Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience implementing and troubleshooting Row-Level Security (RLS) and Power BI security models
- Experience reverse engineering existing reports, dashboards, semantic models, and business logic
- Ability to understand legacy reporting solutions and redesign them to use a new data warehouse schema
- Experience migrating Power BI reports from one SQL Server data warehouse schema to another
- Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
