Job Summary
Senior Data Platform Engineer on our Data & Analytics (D&A) Platform and Architecture team, responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of CSC's Enterprise Data Platform. Working on a dedicated scrum team, responsibilities include developing and maintaining data infrastructure pipelines and platform tooling within the established architecture; designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms using Databricks, Data Lake, Data Factory, and Data Warehouse; collaborating with senior/principal engineers on integration patterns across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers; implementing CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and Terraform; ensuring security best practices (Azure Key Vault, Unity Catalog) and governance; identifying and resolving performance issues; participating in scrum ceremonies; mentoring junior engineers; and being available for on-call production support. The role requires strong communication, a modern cloud/data engineering mindset, and the ability to operate autonomously in a distributed, time-zone-spread environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles
- at least 3 years working in a cloud environment (Azure preferred)
- Solid hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PySpark
- Strong SQL skills and comfort with query optimization
- Experience with Databricks and Delta Lake
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory or comparable pipeline/orchestration tooling
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a global team
- Exposure to Unity Catalog, medallion architecture, or enterprise data governance concepts
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform or equivalent)
- Experience with enterprise scheduling platforms (e.g., Tidal)
- Exposure to BI platforms such as Power BI at the data layer
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience
