Job Summary
Senior Paralegal - Real Estate role supporting real estate transactions at DLA Piper. Responsibilities include assisting with due diligence for real estate deals, ordering/reviewing title commitments and surveys, developing and updating closing checklists, coordinating execution/delivery of documents to lenders and counsel, assisting with tax-related applications, preparing petitions for tax consolidations/divisions, reviewing and abstracting commercial leases, and managing data rooms and matter files. Requires strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills; ability to work with attorneys, clients, outside counsel, and vendors; and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision. Hybrid work arrangement with the Los Angeles office; experience with real estate practice area and drafting leases/lease amendments is essential. Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in Real Estate law; Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience in Real Estate law
- Strong skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with due diligence for real estate transactions, title commitments, surveys, and closing checklists
- Ability to prepare drafts of leases and lease amendments; review and abstract leases
- Ability to manage data rooms and matter files
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with staff, attorneys, clients, and vendors
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred
