Job Summary
Senior Packaging Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions for automotive products. Duties include creating primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging that meets functional and aesthetic requirements, researching new packaging technologies, performing feasibility studies and cost analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (development, sourcing, manufacturing, marketing). Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, apply GD&T, ensure compliance with ISTA/ASTM/ISO standards, troubleshoot packaging issues, and support packaging equipment on the production floor. Role includes collaboration with contract manufacturers and procurement, with approximately 20% travel. Onsite at the corporate headquarters in Colmar, PA (Mon–Thu) with offsite Friday work options; opportunity to work remotely on Fridays. Educational requirement is a technical BS in engineering with 6+ years of packaging experience; packaging certifications are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of experience with a BS in engineering or equivalent
- Proven packaging engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD)
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with assembly line processes
- Experience with robotics applications in packaging is a plus
- Willingness to travel at least 20% to distribution centers or manufacturing locations
