Job Summary
SR Operations Supervisor oversees outbound operations for the designated terminal dock, including loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting. Manages up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules; uses independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels; ensures proper carrier loading by monitoring cube and trailer weight. Provides leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands; monitors dock production and KPI achievement; oversees overtime and safety compliance; ensures DOT/OSHA standards are met and the operational model is followed. Requires experience in transportation/cross docking/shipping and receiving, familiarity with customs and cross-border transportation, strong leadership, technology affinity, and strong communication skills. Preferred but not required: an associates or bachelor’s degree.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environments (preferably within the LTL industry)
- Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
- Strong leadership qualities
- High aptitude for technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
- An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred but not required)
