Sr. Operations Agent - Time Critical (08:00-16:00)

Job Summary
Coordinate shipments, prepare transport documentation, and liaise with customers and carriers to resolve operational issues for urgent freight. Select optimal transport modes, negotiate rates with motor carriers and couriers, and audit domestic freight invoices for billing accuracy. Act as the primary contact for client inquiries, investigate service failures, and expedite customs clearance through daily brokerage coordination. Support domestic sales with accurate freight quotes and cost-saving strategies while maintaining records that meet regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively across time zones to ensure seamless operational handovers and continuous coverage for time-sensitive shipments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in freight operations, logistics, or a related field
- At least 2 years' practical experience with motor carriers, freight forwarders, or express couriers
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proven capacity to work under pressure in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical mind with meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient in TMS/ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite
- Client-focused, proactive attitude with a proven record of delivering service excellence
- Quick learner with excellent memory recall of operational data, rates, and carrier guidelines
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to support a dynamic operational environment and changing business requirements
- Must be available for rotating shift patterns, including day, evening, weekend, public holiday and, where applicable, night working
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics
- Experience working within a shift-based logistics, freight forwarding, aviation, transport or other time-critical operational environment
