SR Node.js Developer – APAC (Canadian Night Shift Coverage)

Job Summary
Senior Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain backend services powering fintech payment processing and customer platforms. Lead API and microservices development in Node.js/JavaScript/TypeScript, build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and event-driven services, collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, and other teams, participate in architecture discussions, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, mentor teammates, and ensure security and compliance in a distributed, mission-critical environment. Location is APAC region with overnight Canadian hours; remote work permitted.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with Docker
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices
- Experience with Git
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Must be located in the APAC region and available to work during Canadian overnight hours
