Sr. Network Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Engineer the design, installation, support, and maintenance of production networks and systems to completion. Integrate servers and services between client business units, design and maintain network services including switching, routing, firewalls, wireless networks, and security. Develop and follow company best practices, create documentation, and perform capacity planning to improve efficiency. Provide on-call support, troubleshoot operational problems, and install software upgrades. Plan and manage projects independently while maintaining parts inventory and complying with administrative procedures. Function collaboratively with Sales Representatives for presales and SOW refinements. Accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement and be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid understanding of routing and switching
- Proficiency with business collaboration tools such as MS Office applications and Visio
- Superior communication skills in working with technical and non-technical people and the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relations among all levels of an organization
- Commitment to see a project or task from start to finish
- Ability to handle problems on your own and deal with them without waiting to be told
- Assurance of own ability to handle tough situations
- Ability to work with others on a combined task, make contributions to the task and share the responsibility of the outcome
- Ability to prioritize several tasks and keep them running simultaneously (multitasking)
- Ability to recognize and respond to changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Ability to motivate yourself and motivate others
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
- Willingness to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement
- Amenability to a permanent night shift schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Current high level industry recognized certifications including one or more of the following: CCNP/Specialization, EMC-TA, CCE, VCAP, VCDX, BCNP, Call Center Applications or HP MASE
- Current CCIE certification and specialization with any of the following: VoIP, QoS, network analysis, wireless, directory services, unified communications and VDI
