Job Summary
Design, maintain, and operate LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and security systems while installing new equipment in plant environments. Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow by conducting data captures, minimizing latency, and maximizing throughput through design analysis and monitoring tools. Configure, deploy, and provide ongoing maintenance for network devices, interfaces, and methodologies to connect front-end and back-end components. Implement specific solutions including load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, traffic shaping, VoIP, GRE tunneling, IPSec, IP encryption, MoIP, and NAT. Provide input to the organization's network and mission architecture design. Requires an active Secret security clearance, US citizenship, and flexible working hours including occasional on-call support.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of network engineering experience
- DoD IAT level II baseline certification
- Flexible working hours to be available to support team when needed
- Occasional on call support availability (typically one week at a time every two months)
- Additional hours availability based on mission need
- Excellent analytical capabilities including creative problem solving and root cause analysis
- Commitment to documentation and organization efforts
- Capability of multitasking while working in a constantly shifting environment with many moving pieces
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of proper procedures, techniques, tools and equipment used to install, maintain and repair wireless communications systems and subsystems
- Knowledge of electronic and wireless theory including digital, analog, and circuitry
- Proficiency with Juniper IOS or other IP/transport specific management tools (EMS) and general practices
- Expertise in IP technologies, i.e. Networking architectures and methodologies and Voice Services
- Expert Knowledge of IP principles
- Proficiency in at least two or more of the following devices: SONUS SBC, Juniper MX5 routers, Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper EX switches, SONUS SBCs, KG175
- Proficiency in at least one of the following tools: SolarWinds or Junos Space
