Sr. Network Engineer - Supporting the Pacific Region

Job Summary
Resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues and serve as the regional point of contact for network communications. Manage configuration, interconnection matters, and multi-protocol routing while advising on design, deployment, and standardization to support the MHS mission. Lead network specialists, coordinate with Government staff and contractors, and provide written recommendations through tickets or updated standards. Maintain DoD 8570.01 compliance at IAM Level III with an active Secret clearance. Utilize mastery-level experience with protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, alongside tools like SolarWinds Orion and ARMIS. Requires CCNP and CISSP certifications. This remote role supports federal IT infrastructure for the Department of Defense.
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level III or equivalent
- DoD Health Care Information Systems experience
- Mastery-level experience with normal networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and 802-series communications standards
- Mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using supported Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity
- Hands-on experience with SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MIB, MRTG-type monitoring, diagnostic tools, network administration tools, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards
- Ability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
- Ability to lead network specialists and coordinate with Government staff, medical personnel, other contractors, NetMOD Network Standards Team, and internal/external organizations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technical degree, or related discipline plus five years directly related experience
- Certified technical/vocational school plus 10 years related experience gained through progressively higher complexity
- CCNP certification
- CISSP certification
