Job Summary

Resolve complex LAN/WLAN/WAN issues, manage high-level installation and configuration, and serve as the regional point of contact for network communications equipment. Address multi-protocol routing and management challenges, provide written recommendations through tickets or standards updates, and advise on design, deployment, and standardization to support the MHS mission. Establish and configure firewalls, VPNs, and IDS devices while leading network specialists and coordinating with government staff and contractors. Maintain DoD 8570.01 compliance and hold active Secret clearance. Requires CCNP and CISSP certifications with five years of related experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • DoD 8570.01 / 8570.01-M compliance at IAM Level III or equivalent
  • DoD Health Care Information Systems experience
  • Mastery-level experience with normal networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, RSTP, VRRP, BIND, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, PPP, HDLC, V.35, RS-449, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, and 802-series communications standards
  • Mastery-level experience in routed, switched, and shared LAN environments using supported Microsoft OS, Windows Active Directory, UNIX, OpenVMS, routers, switches, terminal servers, local WAN, and long-haul WAN connectivity
  • Hands-on experience with SolarWinds Orion, ARMIS, Ansible, MIB, MRTG-type monitoring, diagnostic tools, network administration tools, OTDR, cable testers, network sniffers, and EIA/TIA cable standards
  • Ability to establish and configure network firewalls, VPN devices, and IDSs
  • Ability to lead network specialists and coordinate with Government staff, medical personnel, other contractors, NetMOD Network Standards Team, and internal/external organizations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technical degree, or related discipline plus five years directly related experience
  • Certified technical/vocational school plus 10 years related experience gained through progressively higher complexity
  • CCNP certification
  • CISSP certification
