Job Summary
Develop sustainable referral relationships with realtors, builders, and professional contacts while maintaining deep knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company policies, loan products, and underwriting guidelines. Take applications via URLA, collect documentation, and deliver loan packages within management-set timeframes. Manage the pipeline from origination through closing, complete required management reports, and provide timely status updates to branches and applicants. Educate and train assigned Mortgage Loan Advisors on agency guidelines, processing, pricing, and closing procedures to sustain internal and external referral sources. Follow defined escalation protocols for exceptions and participate in sales meetings, calls, and training as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS)
- Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines
- Knowledge of residential mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures
- Knowledge of federal lending regulations governing real estate lending
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Proven computer skills
- Basic sales technique skills
Desired Qualifications
- Four-year college degree
- 3-5 years of origination experience at Fifth Third, or similar institution
- Top 25% in closed loan production or units in the prior calendar year
- Proven track record of exceptional performance such as top tier score-card performance
- Consistently demonstrates advanced proficiency and adoption of Total Expert and other origination/lead generation systems
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills with a passion for helping to develop and train entry level talent
