Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks in a mobile field environment. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and road test vehicles, then independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the service truck. Document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application and iOS device while accurately completing DOT forms. Obtain parts from approved vendors, communicate with management for estimate approvals, and maintain the service vehicle through daily safety checks. Work with high independence to manage concurrent tasks, prioritize activities, and resolve customer problems while complying with OSHA, EPA, and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3 years' experience in a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
  • Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
  • Candidate must successfully complete and pass a DOT physical
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
  • If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years or older
  • Safe drivers needed
  • Valid driver's license
  • Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
  • ASE T8 (PMI) certification
  • ASE 608/609 certification
  • 100% travel
  • Variable work shift

  • Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline
  • 5 years' experience in a related field
  • OEM training and certifications
  • ASE T2 (Diesel Engines) certification
  • ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
  • ASE A8 (Engine Performance) certification
  • ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) certification
  • ASE L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist) certification
