Job Summary
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and advanced diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile field environment. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation while independently managing parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks. Document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application and accurately complete DOT forms. Obtain parts from approved vendors, communicate with management for repair estimate approvals, and maintain the service vehicle through daily safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections. Work variable shifts Monday through Friday with 100% travel required, earning an hourly base pay of $32.26 to $48.41 plus a $5,000 new hire bonus.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Candidate must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- Candidate must successfully complete and pass a DOT physical
- A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required
- Candidates must be at least 21 years or older
- Safe drivers needed
- Valid driver's license
- Candidate must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license
- Be able to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification
- ASE 608/609 certification
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
- Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed
- Ability to accurately judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from the observer
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Must be available for 100% travel
