Job Summary
Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic diagnostics on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile environment. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation, while independently managing parts inventory and equipment on the service truck. Document all findings, parts used, and work performed on Repair Orders via the TRAIT application and accurately complete DOT forms. Obtain parts from approved vendors, manage concurrent tasks, and communicate with management for repair estimate approvals. Maintain the service vehicle through safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Work with a high degree of independence to manage your daily schedule and meet standard repair times.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years' experience in a related field
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI)
- ASE 608/609 certification
- Successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening
- Pass a DOT physical
- Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration
- At least 21 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to perform moderately heavy laboring work
- Ability to exert oneself physically over long periods of time without tiring
- Ability to accurately judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from the observer
- Ability to determine the type of tools and equipment needed
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
- 100% travel

Desired Qualifications
- Any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 3 years' experience
- 7 years' experience in a related field
- ASE T2 (Diesel Engines) certification
- ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification
- ASE T4 (Brakes) certification
- ASE T5 (Suspension) certification
- ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
- ASE T7 (HVAC) certification
- ASE A8 (Engine Performance) certification
- ASE L1 (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist) certification
- ASE L2 (Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist) certification
