Job Summary
Lead and develop a manufacturing engineering team to drive product quality improvement, reduce defects, and eliminate waste across manufacturing processes. Apply engineering principles, data-driven analysis, and Lean methodologies to optimize process capability, improve first-pass yield, and enhance operational performance. Responsibilities include coaching engineers to identify and eliminate sources of variation and inefficiency, maintaining integrity of manufacturing routers and cycle times, executing structured problem-solving (root cause analysis, CAPA), implementing robust controls (control plans, SPC, process monitoring), cross-functional collaboration to improve yield and reduce rework, championing Lean principles, analyzing workflows to remove bottlenecks, partnering with manufacturing teams to collect and interpret data, establishing performance metrics, and leading improvement roadmaps focused on defect reduction, cost savings, and process capability enhancements; occasional special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent; minimum of six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams focused on quality improvement and defect reduction in manufacturing environments
- Strong expertise in Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action systems
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab)
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven ability to use data and engineering tools to drive measurable improvements in yield, scrap, and process variation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both shop-floor teams and senior leadership
- Experience evaluating equipment and process capability and leading installation and validation of equipment to improve process robustness
