Job Summary
Sr Mgr Deconversion leads a team responsible for coordinating the transfer/depletion of assets for plans terminating their contracts with Empower. Ensures regulatory compliance and meets client objectives, coordinating activities cross-functionally during the termination process, troubleshooting complex issues, supervising and developing staff, hiring and evaluating personnel, and maintaining client relationships throughout termination. The role requires handling higher levels of financial and reputational risk associated with deconversions, documenting procedures, and performing other duties as assigned. Strong knowledge of retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, IRA), customer service experience in financial services, and intermediate MS Office skills are required. The position supports remote and hybrid work arrangements with optional in-office requirements depending on housing and connectivity; EOE statements and diversity commitments are provided. Remote/hybrid setup requires reliable home internet and an appropriate workspace.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Four years relevant work experience with degree; six years without degree
- FINRA Fingerprinting
- Strong customer service experience
- Knowledge of retirement plans (401(k), 403(b), 457, IRA)
- MS Office proficiency (Excel/Word)
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team
- Experience supervising and developing staff
- Ability to manage operating costs, staffing and risk
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
