Sr MEP Superintendent

Job Summary
Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work meeting the approved project schedule. Develops, documents, and communicates field work plans while maintaining thorough understanding of contract documents to anticipate potential problems. Obtains necessary permits, establishes credibility among owners and partners, and acts as primary safety representative enforcing compliance. Leads contractor meetings, maintains daily reports, and creates, manages, and updates the project schedule with contingency plans. Plans jobsite logistics, develops the Quality in Construction plan, and trains direct reports on project needs and business acumen. Collaborates with business development on performance metrics and client relationships. Works on a $5-$50M project as a key team member at Gilbane, a Top-10 ENR contractor building schools, hospitals, and corporate offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project for a value of $30 million or larger on commercial/industrial construction project(s) in a superintendent role
- OSHA 30-hour certified
- STS-C Certification
- First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with the project team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of suite of construction software tools, including logistics and scheduling software
- Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
- Experience and proficiency in most divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
- Strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan
- Ability to create an environment where 'safety first' is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude
- Must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
