Job Summary
Sr Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Neuropsychiatry in the Midwest region (Illinois and Minnesota with IA coverage) serves as a credible scientific expert engaging Key Medical Experts and healthcare professionals to inform medical practice and Biogen’s therapies. Builds deep, strategic relationships, acts as a conduit to leadership, delivers against engagement plans, captures medical insights using Veeva, and travels up to 60% to support field and non-field colleagues. Requires an advanced scientific or clinical degree (Doctoral level preferred), residing in IL/MN/IA, and a minimum of 5 years of MSL or similar experience in pharma/biotech. Strong communication and ethical standards, with ability to navigate clinical and business challenges and to leverage tools and data to inform strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree required; Doctoral (MD, PhD, PharmD) level is preferred
- Must reside within the Midwest territory: IL, MN, IA
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Medical Science Liaison or similar role within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is required
- Ability to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight and weekends
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with Veeva or similar medical insights reporting tools
- Neuropsychiatry therapeutic area experience preferred
- Demonstrated scientific/clinical expertise and ability to engage KMEs and HCPs
- Ethical compliance with industry standards
- Authorization and ability to drive company-leased or rental vehicle
