Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and treat assigned patients while deriving computerized treatment plans for Radiation Oncologists and implementing them with Radiation Therapists. Operate and perform quality assurance on the treatment planning computer under the Medical Physicist's direction, interpreting and executing plans per relevant protocols. Maintain technical knowledge of radiation oncology, medical physics, and safety regulations, utilizing mathematical skills to visualize three-dimensional concepts for plan revision and approval. Perform routine duties independently while consulting with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to understand the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics
- Has working knowledge of radiation safety and current rules and regulations pertaining to radiation therapy
- Must possess mathematical skills and knowledge including algebra, trigonometry, geometry and introductory calculus
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
- Familiarity with medical software and equipment
