Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
Sr. Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing mechanical systems (including HVAC) and BIM coordination across project phases from schematic through construction documents. Leads and mentors project team members, performs engineering studies to optimize system layouts and cost, ensures code compliance, and reviews shop drawings and punch lists during construction. Coordinates with clients, architects, owners, and code officials; develops proposals/presentations; prepares project specifications; maintains client relationships; and supports diversified project types (aviation, higher education, healthcare, hospitality, government facilities). Proficient in Revit MEP and other engineering software; strong technical/communication skills; willing to travel up to 10-35% and operate in a hybrid work environment. The role can be housed in the Houston, TX office and requires authorization to work in the United States; based in Tampa, FL or Houston, TX with flexible hybrid work options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in state(s) of residence/projects
- Based in Tampa, Florida or Houston, TX
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Minimum 5 years leading and coordinating multi-discipline engineering teams
- Experience with Revit MEP
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards
- Experience with design-build, design-bid-construct, fast-track delivery methods
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365 and other engineering software
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior engineers
