Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Starship)

Job Summary
Designs and builds flight hardware for Starship, including propellant tanks, integration interfaces, primary structures, and subassemblies. Creates CAD models in NX, develops structural concepts, builds FE models, performs hand calculations, and validates designs through testing. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, works with design-for-manufacturability in sheet metal and subassemblies, and supports assembly in the factory. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of mechanical design/analysis experience; ITAR compliance and ability to work extended hours and physically demanding tasks are noted. Proactively advocates for robust structural designs and participates in development articles and qualification testing to ensure flight-readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical design and analysis

- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
