Job Summary

Lead a mechanical engineering team designing products with multiple powered DOFs; responsible for design, build and testing of systems and critical components, guiding architectural comparisons against client metrics, performing analyses and tests from concept to production, and coordinating with clients on product specifications, schedules and resources while managing budgets and deliverables across multiple offices. Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering, 8+ years of design experience, and strong mechatronics, motion control, and SolidWorks/FEA capabilities; ISO 13485 familiarity a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • BSME required
  • Minimum of 8+ years of technical system-level design experience
  • Project Management experience leading a cross functional team
  • Mechatronics expertise: motors, bearings, gear trains, belt drives, and sensors
  • Experience with motion control hardware including motors (steppers, servos, dc motors) and position sensors (encoders, limit switches etc.)
  • Experience with end effector design
  • Multiple projects designed, fabricated, and tested
  • Automation experience for industrial applications and manufacturing lines
  • Hands-on system bring-up and integration with a cross functional team
  • ME analysis experience in kinematics, structural, thermal and tolerances
  • Materials and component selection expertise
  • Proficient in Solidworks CAD and FEA
  • Experience with life science instrument and/or medical device design is a plus
  • Client interface capability and experience
  • Hands-on practical performance in shop/lab work
  • Design for manufacturability (high/low volume)
  • Project and technical reporting
  • Understanding of ISO 13485 (a plus)
