Job Summary
Sr. Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing and analyzing components and assemblies with a focus on structural integrity. Collaborates with RF Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, and Production to deliver innovative, manufacturable solutions for world-class customers. Duties include evaluating customer requirements during pre-sale, providing technical estimates, leading in-house programs as Responsible Engineer, design for manufacturability, defining drawings and tolerance analyses, performing static and dynamic analyses, producing technical reports and SDRLs, leading design reviews, writing process-based work instructions and procedures, mentoring the Mechanical Engineering team, ensuring compliance with government regulations and aerospace standards, and supporting environmental tests and R&D activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering
- At least 7 years of related design experience within the aerospace industry
- GD&T
- Manufacturing drawing creation and requirements
- Materials consideration in designing for spaceflight applications
- Testing requirements and results interpretation for environmental conditions (vibration, thermal)
- Compliance to aerospace and spaceflight requirements
- SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD experience
- Experience with environmental testing for spaceflight such as vibration and thermal
- Experience providing technical mentorship
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and 3D Printing
- Post-graduate degree may substitute 2 years of experience
