Job Summary

Integrate Printed Circuit Boards into actuation systems by specifying thermal paste, conformal coatings, and press-fit components. Analyze PCBs, ICs, and assemblies for mechanical failure modes related to deflection, temperature, contamination, and humidity. Perform 3D modeling to generate component and assembly drawings, then lead design verification plans and failure mode analyses. Coordinate validation efforts with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers while prototyping designs to validate functionality. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 1–3+ years of experience, proficiency in Catia V5/V6, and deep knowledge of PCB mechanical failure modes. Salary range for California-based applicants is $107,800–$134,800.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • 1+ years of experience
  • First principles approach to problem solving
  • PCB Integration experience (mechanical, thermal)
  • Deep understanding of Printed Circuit Board and IC mechanical failure modes
  • Proficient in 3D/2D CAD
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, BOM structuring, engineering changes, and deviation processes
