Sr Mechanical Designer, Assets

Job Summary
Create detailed 3D designs for complex assets in power generation and natural gas solutions using Inventor and AutoCAD software. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop accurate schematics, technical specifications, and RFQs while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Perform quality checks on completed drawings, maintain organized records, and assist with equipment installation and testing. Conduct hands-on lab work and document writing as needed. Maintain proficiency in drafting tools and continuously improve skills in AutoCAD and related software. Work independently to design systems per project specifications while adhering to relevant codes and standards.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in drafting with mechanical systems
- 5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field
- Proficient in AutoCAD and related software
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to learn and adapt to changing technologies and industry practices
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation equipment
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency with the company's preferred software. (AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical/Mechanical, Excel) and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Ability to take direction from engineering team and work independently to design systems per project design specifications
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
