Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct end-to-end mechanical design from concept sketches through CAD modeling, simulation, and production release. Create high-quality 3D assemblies and engineering drawings while performing structural analysis to validate integrity in mission-critical environments. Build high-performance mechanisms that balance ruggedness, weight, and manufacturability, then rapidly prototype, test, and iterate subsystems. Collaborate tightly with avionics, propulsion, systems, and manufacturing teams to drive design-for-manufacturing and maintainability. Support regulatory compliance with standards such as CEMILAC, DGCA, and MIL-STD. Maintain structured documentation including BOMs, design logs, and test reports. Lead design reviews and mentor less experienced engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, UAVs, or robotics
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360, etc)
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, DFM principles, and lightweight design
- Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation)
- Familiarity with aerospace compliance and certification standards (CEMILAC, DGCA, MIL, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and working with composite materials is a plus
