Job Summary

Design and develop high-volume satellite structures, mechanisms, and automation equipment for SpaceX Starlink production. Own projects from concept through fabrication and production bring-up, balancing multiple parallel efforts in a fast-paced environment. Partner with flight design and production teams to advance satellite, factory, and production processes; perform structural design and analysis, create machine tooling, and ensure manufacturability and assembly efficiency. Lead hands-on assembly/commissioning of equipment, apply GD&T and CAD/CAx tools (3D CAD, 2D drawings, FEM/FEA), and operate within manufacturing process development and facility layouts. Requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years of mechanical design experience, and proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., NX/UGS, Teamcenter, ANSYS/Nastran, FEMAP). ITAR compliance is required for eligibility; on-site in Redmond, WA.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with 3D CAD software and 2D drawings

Additional Requirements

  • ITAR compliance required: U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
