Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design, update, and support spacecraft product lines; contribute to proposal development, engineering analyses, CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Siemens NX), GD&T, drafting to ANSI standards, and design-for-manufacturability. Responsibilities include reviewing product requests, evaluating conformance to engineering principles and customer requirements, supporting drafting, documentation, and configuration management (ECR/ECO/DCO), investigating production issues, designing test fixtures for environmental testing, and coordinating material/manufacturing solutions. Collaboration with Business Development, Space Vehicles team, and external partners/customers is required. Beneficial experience includes design for manufacturability, CAD modeling in SolidWorks & NX, TeamCenter, and knowledge of spacecraft design principles.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Ten years’ relevant experience, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills and experience presenting complex topics
- In depth knowledge of 3D parametric CAD software (Solidworks, Siemens NX)
- Drafting and Design experience per ANSI Standards
- Experience in an engineering or product testing/manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with industry-standard Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software
- Must be a U.S. citizen
