Job Summary
Manage assigned parts and suppliers, resolving problems and developing relationships to improve delivery performance and inventory control. Analyze MRP daily and weekly to produce supplier releases, then launch, schedule, defer, expedite, and cancel purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels. Monitor lead times, validate delivery dates against purchase orders, and perform root cause analysis for missed deliveries. Proactively identify shortages, coordinate engineering changes with production, and assist with material requisitions, packaging projects, and inventory accuracy initiatives including VMI and Kanban systems.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience with purchasing, inventory, or related functions
- Bachelor's degrees in Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related area
- Knowledge of MS Office applications as needed to satisfactorily perform work assignments – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management software
- Must be organized, able to prioritize, set and keep deadlines, change direction quickly, and adapt to various work environments easily
- Strong ability to work independently and at times discreetly, use sound judgment, and make thoughtful decisions in a timely manner
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, including following instructions
- Must be able to work effectively in group settings through collaborative, solutions-oriented, and win-win approaches
- Must be able to perform within physical requirements including, but not limited to 40 lb. single lift; walking, kneeling, squatting, and standing for long periods of time
