Sr Marketing Accountant

Job Summary
Manage confirmation, reconciliation, and settlement of physical and financial transactions for oil, natural gas, and NGLs. Review commercial agreements to ensure accounting implications are properly reflected in systems. Analyze complex marketing transactions to identify impacts and maintain compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely payments to suppliers and support collection of marketing receivables. Provide monthly sales prices, fee rates, and journals to the Production/Revenue Accounting team. Deliver monthly analysis and reports of Marketing activities to Planning and Financial Reporting teams. Maintain open and aged marketing account balances and reconcile sales and intercompany balances. Lead monthly accounting close activities, including posting accruals, resolving reconciling items, and completing account analyses. Mentor staff and identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency. Support strategic initiatives and internal and external audits by preparing technical analyses and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 7 plus years of accounting experience
- Experience interpreting and applying commercial contracts
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, and financial data analysis
- Strong financial accounting skills, including hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and reconcile pipeline, truck, and plant statements
