Job Summary

Senior Manufacturing Engineer to optimize automotive production operations through process optimization, automation integration, robotics support, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining manufacturing processes for automotive production, supporting installation/startup/optimization of automated equipment and assembly systems, troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, scrap and downtime reduction, analyzing workflow and equipment performance, coordinating equipment launches and process validations, supporting preventive maintenance and root cause analysis, collaborating with maintenance/quality/production/tooling teams, and developing process documentation (PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams). Ensures compliance with customer specifications and ISO/IATF standards, assists with capital equipment projects and plant layout improvements, supports APQP and production readiness for new product launches, and trains production and maintenance personnel on manufacturing equipment and automated systems. Preferred skills include PLC/servo systems, sensors, pneumatics, industrial controls, and experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks. Work environment: manufacturing plant with exposure to automated equipment, robotics, and production machinery; occasional overtime and weekend support during launches or issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Will highly consider experience without a degree
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  • Some knowledge of PLC manufacturing systems
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Experience with automotive quality systems including IATF 16949, PFMEA, APQP, and control plans
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred Skills: Understanding of PLC, servo systems, sensors, pneumatics, and industrial controls
  • Knowledge of cycle time reduction and OEE improvement strategies
  • Experience supporting high-volume automotive production lines
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or manufacturing software systems
