Sr. Manufacturing Engineer -Controls

Job Summary

Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, procedures, and processes for blood glucose monitoring and future sensor products. Develop and improve automation and electromechanical processes by researching requirements, testing methods, and soliciting operator feedback. Interface with design and process development engineering to coordinate new product releases and estimate manufacturing costs for tooling and controls systems. Manage multiple projects, ensure process changes follow validation policies, and design testing methods to assure system and product quality. Provide training and guidance to lower-level staff while participating in the on-call rotation for off-shift and weekend production support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 5 years relevant experience
  • Master's of Engineering/PhD with 2 years relevant experience
  • Relevant experience must include troubleshooting, modifying, and/or developing industrial equipment controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, Motion Control, etc.)
  • Possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the field
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
  • Ability to analyze test data and run simulations
  • Ability to write and present clear and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Strong ability to teach and educate key stakeholders and other colleagues
  • Deep commitment to cross-functional collaboration and breaking down silos to achieve the best results for the organization
  • Participates in the on-call rotation to provide off shift / weekend support to production, as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience troubleshooting controls systems of high volume/speed manufacturing equipment
  • Familiar with GMP in a regulated environment (Medical Device or Pharmaceutical)
  • Previous training or experience in Process Improvement Methodologies (e.g. LSS, PDCA, etc.)
