Job Summary
Own the end-to-end strategy, capability building, and execution of Thomson Reuters' personalization program, translating business goals into sequenced roadmaps for audience segmentation and journey customization. Build foundational data infrastructure and technology architecture while driving continuous testing and learning to validate new personalization approaches. Lead a high-performing team of optimization specialists, coaching on technical depth and soft skills to foster a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety. Partner with Digital Product Managers and technical teams to define use cases, manage dependencies, and ensure proper analytical tagging across Adobe platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years in digital marketing, web personalization, optimization, or related roles
- 5+ years driving web personalization activities across large organization
- ideally leveraging Adobe Target
- 3+ years managing and developing teams, including coaching across different experience levels
- Track record of successfully building personalization capabilities or programs from the ground up, or significantly expanding and maturing existing programs
- Experience translating personalization strategy into operational roadmaps and delivering against them
- Hands-on expertise with personalization technology stack from Adobe or other equivalent platforms, such as: Adobe Target (decisioning engine), Adobe Audience Manager (audience segmentation and activation), Adobe Analytics (measurement and insight), and Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies
- Deep understanding of how to segment audiences, build and activate audience segments, configure targeting rules, and measure personalization impact across digital properties
- Understanding of data strategy, data governance, and audience activation platforms
- Success working in complex, matrixed organizations and influencing across reporting lines without direct authority
- Experience in B2B or enterprise software
- You think in frameworks about personalization maturity, audience segmentation, content targeting, and testing methodologies
- You deeply understand data architecture — how data flows through CDPs, how analytical tagging structures support both business reporting AND optimization/testing, and how audience activation works technically
- You understand the technology stack deeply enough to advise on data strategy and capability roadmap, but you can translate technical concepts into business language
- You don't just think strategically—you know how to turn strategy into concrete programs with clear phases, dependencies, and success metrics
- You can operate in the ambiguity of building something new
- You don't need to be told what to do
- You understand the business context, you anticipate what needs to happen, and you take action
- You have strong opinions grounded in experience, and you're not afraid to share them respectfully
- You can manage diverse personalities and experience levels
- You coach people, set clear expectations, hold boundaries, and create psychological safety
- You're emotionally intelligent and patient, but also direct about performance
- You can explain complex technical and strategic concepts to non-technical audiences
- You can distill information and communicate at multiple levels (exec summary to detailed roadmap)
- You partner effectively with leadership on strategy translation
- You absorb organizational context quickly
- You understand different customer journeys and business models
- In B2B environments, you can learn fast and apply frameworks appropriately rather than just transplanting B2C patterns
- You can work effectively with teams that don't report to you
- You build credibility, coordinate dependencies, and create alignment without formal authority
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in B2B or enterprise software is a plus
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms and email personalization
- Background in web development, statistics, or analytics
- Experience presenting to executive leadership
- Proven track record of developing high-performing teams
- Experience using AI to advance personalization capabilities
- Intellectually curious and committed to continuous learning
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Results-oriented and metric-driven
- Collaborative, able to synthesize differing opinions into actionable directions
- Energetic and forward-thinking about emerging personalization technologies and approaches
