Job Summary
Guide the technical direction of the Salesforce engineering team, ensuring the development of scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions while overseeing delivery to meet timelines and maintain quality standards. Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, set priorities, and align the engineering team with business goals. Partner with leadership to influence org design, drive prioritization, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Measure team impact, set clear expectations, and encourage the team to explore new tools, techniques, and best practices. Manage multiple project timelines and competing priorities within a scaled agile environment. This hybrid or remote role (60% office if within 50 miles of Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC) requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 8+ years of technical experience, and 5+ years of managerial experience.
Required Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of surrounding technologies including design patterns and modern standards
- Great leadership skills to work effectively with peers within and across organizations
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologies
- Solid written and interpersonal communication with the ability to deliver compelling presentations
- Strong ability to manage and execute on multiple project timelines and manage competing priorities
- Expertise in product operating model and scaled agile
- Possession of a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and adherence to all aspects of Aflac's driving policy, including ability to be insurable by the company insurance carrier
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- 8+ years of relevant technical and business experience
- 5+ years of managerial experience in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to be insurable by the company insurance carrier
