Job Summary
Sr Manager, Software Engineering leading a core team of software architects within Disney’s Commerce Architecture & Security organization. Architect and govern end-to-end solution designs across digital and physical guest experiences, ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions. Partner with Product, Engineering, Platform, and Architecture teams to align solution scope with business objectives, drive architecture reviews, and enforce enterprise standards. Provide hands-on architectural leadership across multi-system initiatives, evaluate AI tools for projects, and balance architectural rigor with delivery pragmatism. Drive collaboration across executive and cross-functional audiences, contribute to roadmaps, manage delivery enablement, and supervise risk, quality, and metrics to ensure operational readiness and long-term sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years of related experience with demonstrated expertise in Software Engineering, Technical Design, Solution and Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering Delivery and Leadership
- Experience designing and delivering highly scalable, high-volume, distributed systems in Agile environments
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures, integration patterns, APIs, infrastructure, data flows, and security-by-design
- Experience leading and mentoring Principal Software Architects & Engineers and technical leaders
- Executive-level written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with public speaking and presenting to varied audiences
- Experience collaborating within hybrid organizations (centralized architecture with federated delivery teams)
- Budget and forecast management experience
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate)
- Familiarity with AI tools and approaches as applied to Software Architecture & Engineering
