Job Summary
Lead quality strategy for core data infrastructure at massive scale, defining standards using DORA metrics like deployment frequency and MTTR. Mentor 10+ engineers in a culture of shared ownership while guiding teams on automation frameworks, contract-based testing, and resilience strategies. Oversee AI-augmented testing rollouts from LLM-driven generation to evaluation, and establish data integrity standards for systems handling nearly 1PB daily. Build shared CI/CD gates and chaos templates to enable independent team velocity, partnering with Engineering, Product, and Program Management to embed quality into architecture. Support production deployments and lead root-cause analysis during incidents. This role sits within the Data Engineering team, driving near real-time security insights and technical career paths across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of management experience leading distributed teams of 10+ people
- A track record of building modern testing strategies and automation frameworks
- Deep experience with data systems like Postgres, Clickhouse, Trino, Spark, Iceberg, Kinesis, Kafka, and cloud-native architectures
- Strong familiarity with AI-driven tooling, including evaluating AI-generated tests and code quality
- Great communication skills—you're comfortable influencing others and explaining quality goals to both technical and non-technical folks
- BSCS degree or equivalent required
- Prior hands-on experience in a Senior IC role is preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with contract/consumer-driven testing or chaos engineering is a big plus
- MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
