Job Summary

Sr Manager, Project Management (Japanese Speaking) leads project and program management teams delivering complex, high-visibility initiatives for FIS and clients. Sets direction, governance, and delivery strategies; oversees project portfolios, risk and resource management, and ensures alignment of budgets, timelines, quality, and stakeholder expectations. Builds partnerships with senior leaders, clients, and cross-functional teams to drive decisions, defines and improves standards and operating rhythms, coaches managers and project leaders, and supports continuous improvement through data-driven delivery metrics and governance.

Required Qualifications

  • Effectively bilingual in Japanese and English (minimum JLPT N2)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant project or program management experience, including 2+ years leading people managers, supervisors, or project teams
  • Demonstrated experience leading project or program management teams delivering large, complex, high-risk initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, governance, lifecycle methodologies, and delivery controls
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and quality across multiple projects
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and communicating clearly across business, technical, and client-facing audiences
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, delegation, and team development
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, conflict management, and decision-making skills in complex environments
  • Advanced skills in project planning, forecasting, reporting, and project management tools and dashboards
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable project management credential
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, payments, banking, or capital markets environments
  • Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models across business and technology initiatives
  • Experience establishing PMO practices, delivery governance, and portfolio reporting
  • Strong commercial awareness, including cost management, prioritization, and value realization
