Sr Manager Procurement - Transportation

Job Summary
Lead North America Transportation procurement for a ~$350M book of business, building and leading procurement for truck, rail, and ocean freight. Develop and execute a long-term strategic sourcing vision aligned with CSP&L goals, shift from transactional bidding to strategic execution, oversee supplier negotiation strategy, manage SRM, and drive continuous improvement of the transportation network (including 3PL/4PL models). Partner with stakeholders to create category strategies, support ESG outcomes for indirect categories, and influence cross-functional teams across North America. The role requires senior leadership andChange-agent capabilities to deliver cost, quality, delivery, and service objectives while aligning with logistics operations and senior leaders across the company.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Logistics, Supply-Chain or equivalent industry/subject matter
- Demonstrated management capabilities, especially related to leading strategic initiatives, driving performance, leading change efforts & producing superior results through sustainable collaboration
- Demonstrated experience managing large, diverse teams & resources
- Track record of transforming & or leading the continuous improvement of procurement
- Knowledge of SAP ERP & related systems including, but not limited to, S/4 Hana, SAP Ariba & SAP Concur
- Possess the ability & knowledge to negotiate, manage & enforce complex agreements
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate productively with cross-functional, cross-geography teams
- Leadership Competencies: Business Acumen, Strategic Agility, Organizational Agility, Motivating Others
- Functional Competencies: Strategic Sourcing, Risk Management, Supplier Selection & Contracting, Supplier Relationship Management, Stakeholder Influencing
- Experience in Food Manufacturing Industry a plus
- Demonstrated top performance in prior role(s) with increasing levels of responsibility
- Ability to recruit, manage, develop & retain top talent; a recognized leader & natural mentor
- Experience with 3PL/4PL models and transportation procurement
- Experience negotiating complex supplier agreements
- Exposure to ESG outcomes in indirect categories
- Experience with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, S/4HANA)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive results through collaboration
