Job Summary
Senior Manager of Software Engineering leads and coaches a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers; directs resources, budget, and processes; translates business needs into technical outcomes with measurable KPIs/OKRs; participates in defining solution architecture and runways for tech-debt remediation; defines and governs NFRs (reliability, performance, scalability, security, compliance, operability, cost efficiency); champions observability and resilience engineering; provides input on budget and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies; optimizes cost and performance for cloud/on-prem workloads; fosters diversity, inclusion, and ethical practices; mentors and develops talent; drives adoption of automation and modern engineering practices; requires formal training or certification and 5+ years of experience with at least 2+ years in leadership; hands-on experience with distributed systems and APIs; proficiency in Java, C#, Python; experience with AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation; CI/CD tools; observability stacks; and collaboration with risk, product, compliance, and data science teams.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items
