Job Summary
Senior Manager of Software Engineering leads agile team delivering low-latency, high-throughput API products using Java/SpringBoot, microservices, and Kubernetes. Drives design decisions, production-grade code reviews, and operational stability while guiding cloud infrastructure and big data efforts. Acts as a function-wide SME, advocates firmwide SDLC practices, mentors technologists, and fosters an inclusive team culture. The role emphasizes solving business problems through innovative engineering practices and leveraging observability tools (Splunk, Kibana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace) to monitor and optimize systems.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Java, Springboot, Microservices, RESTful API and Kubernetes
- Experience in API Gateways, Apache Kafka, Cassandra or other NoSQL DB, exposure to cloud infrastructure
- Expertise with observability tools such as Splunk, Kibana, AppDynamics or Dynatrace
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines
