Job Summary
Guide development and certification of dynamic systems, airframe, and flight components for Supernal's eVTOL prototype and production programs. Ensure structural integrity through analysis and testing while managing schedules, budgets, and risks across multiple parallel projects. Lead requirements validation, supplier coordination, and material selection for avionics, actuation, and landing gear. Establish engineering workflows from concept to first article production and collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners on manufacturing and certification strategies. Build high-performing teams in dynamic systems and interiors design, providing subject matter expertise and fostering a culture of safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical or equivalent disciplines
- Ten (10) years minimum experience working with fixed- or rotary-wing aircraft concept development, product design and analysis, test, certification, production, and in-service support
- preferably FAA Part 23/25/27/29 programs
- Seven (7) years minimum experience with composite design, analysis and production
- Experience with implementation of new material and manufacturing techniques for FAA acceptance
- Ability to distill high level goals and constraints into clear, concise, and actionable objectives
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with aviation industry groups (e.g., CMH17, ASTM F44, RTCA)
- Experience with aerospace development program planning, budgeting, technology road-mapping, cross-functional collaboration, multi-disciplinary team leadership, functional excellence responsibilities, and multi-site organizational leadership experience
- Ability to build productive relationships quickly and effectively with internal and external leaders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and forward-thinking personality
