Job Summary
Sr. Manager, Material Development leads end-to-end material development from concept through commercialization, shaping the materials aesthetic and strategy across knits, wovens, and performance fabrics; partners with Design, Production, Merchandising, and Sourcing; manages and develops the material team, establishes SOPs, and drives KPI-driven progress with mills and suppliers while prioritizing quality, cost, and delivery targets. Requires deep technical expertise in knit/woven constructions, yarns, dyes, finishes, and printing, strong leadership, global supplier partnerships, and a track record of scalable processes; travel domestically and internationally is expected.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of fabric development experience across lifestyle and performance fabrics
- 3+ years managing a team within material development, R&D, fabric, or material design functions
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Materials Science, Apparel Design, or a related field preferred
- Ideal candidate brings foundational AI literacy including experience using generative AI tools
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to mills, factories, and trade shows
