Job Summary
Senior IT Architecture leader responsible for defining infrastructure strategy, leading a team of architects, guiding cloud and on-prem migrations, and ensuring security, compliance, and governance across product technology environments in a highly regulated healthcare/medical devices context. Leads the Infrastructure Architecture Review Board (ARB), collaborates with R&D, SRE, and security teams, and drives adoption of modern platform capabilities (CI/CD, IaC, AI/ML integration) while aligning with Product Security and certification standards. Onsite role at Abbott locations in Minnesota (St. Paul and Maple Grove); manages vendors, mentors staff, and delivers secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure patterns for AI workloads and data pipelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including architecture and engineering
- Strong experience leading migration of on-premises systems to cloud-based environments
- Deep, hands-on expertise in at least two major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Infrastructure design and architecture governance
- Experience operating in a regulated environment with audits and compliance controls
- 3–5+ years managing technical teams (architects or senior engineers)
