Job Summary
Conduct operational risk management, internal controls, and regulatory reviews within the life insurance industry. Lead process risk assessments, control testing, and issue remediation while analyzing risk trends to provide strategic insights for mitigating emerging threats. Manage stakeholder communications and implement lateral strategies to guide business solutions regarding risk and quality assurance. Maintain proactive awareness of regulatory environment changes and their potential impacts on operations. Requires hands-on approach in a fast-paced setting with graduate or post-graduate degree.
Required Qualifications
- Hands on experience of operational risk management, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in the life insurance industry
- Experience in process risk reviews, control testing, and issue remediation
- Ability to analyse risk trends and provide strategic insights to mitigate emerging risks
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive and hands-on approach
- A graduate or post graduate degree
- A high level of professional competence which helps to give solutions to the business and guide them on matters pertaining to management of risk and quality assurance
- Keep abreast of changes in regulatory and business environment and anticipative of potential risks and impacts to the business
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk trends, both internally and externally
- Ability to think strategically and laterally. Put in place and implement strategy
- In depth knowledge of the management of operational risk and of the regulatory environment in the financial services sector
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills

- Exposure to operational functions such as New Business, Customer onboarding and Group business Operations
