Job Summary
Senior Manager Export Compliance is responsible for developing and managing compliance processes, procedures, and system interfaces for a large multinational company, ensuring compliance with U.S. export laws and regulations. This hybrid role is based near Irvine, CA, and involves operationalizing export regulations, managing the Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence, coordinating export shipments (ECCN classification, documentation, AES filing), developing SOPs, conducting audits, leading investigations into trade violations, monitoring regulatory changes and driving strategy, building metrics/KPIs, and leading a Global Trade Compliance team to implement best-in-class practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of experience in export controls, compliance, and trade operations
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of BIS, EAR/ITAR, OFAC - encryption & category 5 a plus
- Experience with export licensing requirements
- Experience working with IT teams on SAP/GTS configuration and implementation
- Technical acumen and data analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels
