Sr Manager, Engineering Operations (PMO)

Job Summary

Lead and develop a team of agile project managers and delivery leads supporting engineering teams across the organization. Own the engineering organization's delivery planning and governance rhythm, including monthly goal-setting, delivery reviews, predictability tracking, and stakeholder communication. Lead recurring prioritization processes with senior technology and business leaders to maintain clear organizational priorities and surface capacity constraints. Synthesize delivery performance and team-health insights into clear actions, partnering with technical leaders to address risks and improve team effectiveness. Identify gaps in engineering delivery processes and drive cross-functional improvements to enhance organizational efficiency. Build strong relationships across Technology, Product, Finance, and other functions to improve alignment and execution. Manage relationships with staffing and contracting partners while maintaining visibility into contractor capacity. Drive technology-wide engagement through technical deep dives, AI-enablement sessions, and quarterly showcases. Support long-term initiative planning and advocate for technology investments that improve efficiency and automation. Partner with Finance on technology budget management and software capitalization processes. Maintain a strong understanding of engineering operating processes to continuously improve how the organization operates.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering operations, or a related role
  • experience leading project managers, delivery leads, or similar teams
  • Proven experience building and leading delivery governance, planning, and prioritization processes for a multi-team engineering organization
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • track record of coaching, developing, and enabling high-performing teams
  • Exceptional facilitation and cross-functional communication skills
  • ability to drive alignment and decisions among senior engineering, product, business, and finance stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to use delivery data, team feedback, and organizational signals to identify risks, surface trade-offs, and make actionable recommendations to leadership
  • Track record of identifying and driving organization-wide process improvements in a fast-moving technology environment
  • Experience managing external vendors, contractors, or staffing partners
  • hybrid schedule in our Charlotte, NC office
  • Tuesday-Thursday in-office, Monday and Friday remote

Desired Qualifications

  • experience with agile/scrum delivery frameworks and program management tools such as Jira or Asana
  • Familiarity with technology budgeting, software capitalization, or similar financial planning processes
  • Experience in fintech, lending, insurance, or another regulated financial services environment
